Just have a look at this one!!! This an original German cigarette card collector book, titled: 'Pour le Merite - Orden' and issued by the German Cigarette Makers Waldorf-Astoria GmbH Muenchen in around 1930 (no year of publication stated). The book is designed to hold 287 color cards of German Medals and Orders, which would be neatly fixed to their appropriate places within the book. The book contains anything from the early German Crusader's Orders, to the various forms of the Iron Cross and the Pour le Merite to various medals and orders issued by the various German national Kingdoms and Dukedoms in the late 19th century and throughout WW1 and there are even a number of German state issued medals of the 1920's...the book does not claim to be a complete representation of German medals, but it does contains the most important ones...all of the cards are in very good condition and the inside of the book in general is in very good condition, there are still many interesting additional texts and illustrations to provide explanations to the main groups of decorations contained within the book. The pages are made of heavy, almost cardboard like, paper and the front cover does have a beautiful blue and gold Pour le Merite cover design...the book is quite large and measures 11" x 13 3/4" and the cards are about credit card size each. Unpacked weight is 0.95kg.
The book is complete with all its cards and there is a little score card with it to tick off which cards you already had when collecting them. The is damage to the spine and parts of it are missing and the covers have surface dirt from age and handling but the rest is very good condition.
